Description
Long considered the Jewel of Milton, the Forbes House Museum chronicles the history of an entrepreneurial American family. The majestic Greek Revival mansion, built in 1833 for Margaret Perkins Forbes, was commissioned by her sons, China Trade merchants Captain Robert Bennet Forbes (1804–89) and John Murray Forbes (1813–98). Today, the Museum contains the treasures of four generations of the Forbes family.
