Description

The Keep Homestead Museum is a beautifully preserved and restored 19th century farm house. The homestead, consisting of the land, a barn and the house with sixteen rooms, three attics and three cellars was donated to the Town of Monson when Myra Keep Moulton died in 1988. The farm had been in her family since 1854. With a superb collection of home furnishings, china and countless other belongings of a family that lived there for over 150 years – including the bedroom that Charles and Pearl Keep moved into in September 1893 and that has the original wallpaper, carpet, furniture bought for their marriage, and a copy of the bill of sale for the furniture. The 1st section built ca. 1749; others in 1820 & 1863.
