Description
Built in 1833, the Bailey House is now a museum of Maui history showcasing Hawaiian culture and artifacts, as well as paintings and furnishings from nineteenth-century Maui. Located in historic Wailuku and built on the site of the Royal compound of Kahekili, last ruling chief of Maui, the house served as the Wailuku Female Seminary for Hawaiian girls until 1849, and remained the home of Edward Bailey and his family until 1888.
