The Battle-Friedman House and Gardens

Description

This house was built in 1835 by Alfred Battle. Originally a federal style home, the second owners of the home, the Friedmans, added columns and other features of Greek revival architecture to the home. The home consists of two parlors, a dining room, and four bedrooms above. Outside the home are the oldest documented gardens in the state. They are of an English fashion and were designed with geometric box patterns and designs by Peter McArthur.
